TRS Green Cardamom is whole green cardamom pods (Elettaria cardamomum) carefully selected for their strong, sweet-spicy and slightly floral aroma. Each small, ribbed pod contains numerous tiny dark seeds that hold the concentrated flavor. This versatile spice is a staple in many cuisines—used in South Asian, Middle Eastern and Scandinavian cooking—and is prized for the complex fragrance it brings to both sweet and savory dishes. TRS Green Cardamom is ideal for flavoring teas and coffees, aromatic rice dishes, curries, desserts and baked goods. Stored properly in a cool, dry, airtight container away from light, whole cardamom pods retain their aroma and flavor far longer than pre-ground spice.

To use, lightly crush whole pods with the flat of a knife or a mortar and pestle to release the seeds and aroma, then add whole or split pods during cooking and remove before serving, or scrape out the seeds and grind them fresh for the most intense flavor. Add a few crushed pods or a pinch of freshly ground seeds to tea, coffee or milk-based drinks, toss whole pods into rice while it cooks for fragrant pulao or biryani, or include ground cardamom in doughs and batters for baking.
