TRS Cardamom Seeds are the aromatic seeds of the green cardamom plant (Elettaria cardamomum), carefully selected to deliver the spice’s characteristic warm, sweet and slightly citrusy flavor with cool, menthol-like undertones. The seeds carry an intense, complex aroma that lifts both sweet and savory dishes and are prized across South Asian, Middle Eastern and Scandinavian cuisines. Because they are sold as seeds rather than whole pods or pre-ground powder, they retain their fragrance longer and allow you to release fresh flavor by crushing or grinding just before use. TRS Cardamom Seeds are ideal for spicing rice and biryanis, curries, marinades, baked goods, desserts, chai and coffee, and for inclusion in spice blends like garam masala or baharat. To preserve their aroma and potency, store the seeds in an airtight container away from heat, light and moisture; properly stored, whole seeds will keep their best flavor for up to one to two years.
How to use: Gently crack open a cardamom pod with the back of a knife and extract the seeds, or use the seeds directly if sold separated; crush, bruise or grind them just before adding to food to get the freshest aroma. Add whole or bruised seeds early when simmering stocks, curries or rice so the flavor infuses, or grind and add near the end of cooking or to baked goods and sweets for a brighter, more pronounced note. For beverages, lightly crush a couple of seeds and steep them with tea or coffee, or grind them into spice mixes and rubs; a little goes a long way, so start with a small amount and adjust to taste.
