Patak’s Kashmiri Masala Curry Paste is a ready-to-use curry paste inspired by the flavors of Kashmiri cuisine. It is a smooth, deep-red paste that combines the sweet, fruity heat of Kashmiri red chillies with a balanced blend of aromatic spices, along with a tomato and onion base and notes of garlic and ginger. The paste gives dishes a vibrant color and a mild-to-medium warmth, providing authentic Indian curry flavor without the need to grind whole spices. It is designed to speed up cooking and works well for making curries, stews, sauces and marinades, bringing consistent spice and color to home-cooked meals.

To use, heat a little oil in a pan and fry finely chopped onion until soft, then stir in 1–2 tablespoons of the paste per 400g of meat or vegetables (or per 400ml of coconut milk/stock) and cook for a minute to release the aromas. Add your protein or vegetables and enough liquid (water, stock or coconut milk) to make a sauce, then simmer until everything is cooked through and the flavors have blended, typically 10–15 minutes. For a quick marinade, coat meat or paneer with the paste and leave for 30 minutes or up to overnight before grilling or baking.
