Enesar Sambar Powder is a finely ground South Indian spice blend crafted to recreate the authentic, home-style flavor of sambar, the popular lentil and vegetable stew. Made from carefully selected spices and roasted lentils, it delivers a balanced aroma of warm coriander and cumin, mild heat from dry red chilies and black pepper, a hint of bitterness from fenugreek, and the unique fragrance of curry leaves and other traditional seasonings. The roasted dal component (commonly chana dal or toor dal in traditional recipes) adds body and a subtle nutty depth, while the roasting process enhances the oils and aroma of the spices for a fuller, rounder taste. Enesar Sambar Powder simplifies preparation of classic sambar and can also be used to season vegetable curries, lentil gravies, soups and stir-fries, providing consistent, reliable South Indian flavor for everyday cooking.
To use, prepare your dal (typically toor dal) and vegetables and have tamarind-infused water or fresh tamarind ready for tang. Add Enesar Sambar Powder toward the end of cooking and simmer to allow the flavors to meld; as a starting guideline, use about one to two tablespoons of powder for every 3–4 cups of combined cooked dal and vegetables, then adjust to taste. For a brighter aroma, add a smaller amount near the end of cooking; for deeper, roasted notes, add earlier and simmer a little longer. The powder can also be sprinkled lightly on stir-fried vegetables, mixed into coconut-based gravies, or combined with fresh coconut and aromatics to make a quick sambar paste. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve freshness and aroma.
