Cook the noodles in boiling water for 4–5 minutes, then drain, leaving about 8 tablespoons (roughly 120 ml) of cooking water in the pot. Return the noodles to the pot, add the carbonara sauce sachet and stir over low to medium heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles. Remove from heat, sprinkle in the flake/cheese sachet, toss to combine, and serve immediately. If using a cup version, pour boiling water to the fill line, steep for 3–4 minutes, drain the water, add the sauce and flakes, stir well, and enjoy.
